It was a red letter day for Qatar’s club side Al Arabi. The reigning Emir’s Cup champions defeated fellow Qatari side Al Wakrah 22-19 in a tight semifinal in Samcheok, South Korea, on Friday to enter the final of the Asian Club Championship for the first time.

They will meet Saudi Arabian side Al Wehda in the final on Sunday. Wehda had defeated the UAE’s Al Sharjah 30-29 in the other semifinal.

Al Arabi has had a terrific run in the tournament winning all their matches so far. Will Wehda stop their winning streak or can they keep going till they lay their hands on the title remains to be seen?

Al Wakrah next play Al Sharjah in the bronze medal match.
