Al Arabi win third game in a row, Al Wakrah lose
Emir’s Cup winners keep up winning momentum at Asian Championship, but Qatar League champions taste first defeat.

Al Arabi maintained their winning streak in the Asian Club Championship in Samcheok, South Korea, with a 32-24 triumph over the host nation’s SH Hawks.
The result ensured Qatar’s Emir Cup champions remained in the top spot in Group A, with six points from three wins.

Earlier, they had overcome Kuwait’s Al Kuwait 27-21 after steamrollering Iranian side Zagros 40-24 in the opener.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Bar Bar ended the dream run of defending Qatar League champions Al Wakrah, defeating them 21-20 in a thrilling tie.
The Bahraini side, who overwhelmed Wakrah with their physical superiority, had gone into half-time with an 11-10 advantage.
After a day’s rest, Wakrah play their last group game against Omani side Oman, while Arabi face off against the UAE’s Al Sharjah.
At the end of the preliminary round, two top teams from each group will play the semifinals while the others appear in placement games.
