Emir visits Khalifa Stadium to assess preparations for Worlds
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was accompanied by QOC President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani.

HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, is on the left.His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani visited the Khalifa International Stadium and the Aspire Zone premises on Wednesday morning to personally assess the preparations for the IAAF World Athletics Championships 2019 which will be held in Doha from September 27 to October 6.
During his visit HH the Emir was briefed about the preparations and arrangements being made to host the Middle East region’s first World Athletics Championships.
HH the Emir toured various facilities for competitors and guests besides the designated areas for fan zones. He also visited the media and accreditation centres and volunteers’ entertainment tent.
HH the Emir was accompanied by HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of Qatar Olympic Committee, who is also the Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of World Athletics Championships, and a number of other officials.
