Logo launch confirms Qatar’s success, says Sports Minister

Sports Minister views 2022 FIFA World Cup as an opportunity to demonstrate Qatar’s values and cultural diversity

Qatar’s Minister of Culture and Sports HE Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali said the successful worldwide unveiling of the 2022 FIFA World Cup emblem confirmed the remarkable success achieved by the State of Qatar in all fields and levels, including sports.

In a statement to the Qatar News Agency, the minister expressed his pride in the symbolism of the logo that linked the Qatari identity to the cultures of the world and also highlighted the authenticity of the Arab culture through the elegance and vitality of the Arabic calligraphy.

The minister, along with some of the top officials and staff at the Ministry of Culture and Sports, celebrated the emblem launch at the Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena amidst a festive atmosphere.

He said the ministry viewed the 2022 FIFA World Cup as an opportunity to demonstrate Qatar’s values and cultural diversity, and to build harmonious relationship between people of different cultures.

The ministry’s active participation in activities related to the logo launch also reflected the government’s determination to move forward in a steady manner and achieve more sporting glory at international level.

Aisha Al Mahmoud, Head of Public Relations and Communication, Ministry of Culture and Sports, said their enthusiastic participation demonstrated the ministry’s keenness to get actively involved and support all sporting events, both at local and international levels. She added that the worldwide launch of the emblem reflected Qatar’s organisational capability and expressed the hope that the 2022 FIFA World Cup would be a great success.
