Noora narrowly misses out place in junior trap final
Qatari youngster falters in shoot-off in qualifying round; junior men’s team finishes fourth in 50M rifle 3-positions.

Qatar shooters came up with encouraging performances in the junior events at the Asian Shooting Championships at the Lusail Shooting Range on Thursday.
Noora Saad Al Mohannadi narrowly missed out a place in the final of the women’s trap, losing a shoot-off with China’s Lin Guo to finish seventh. Both the shooters had scores of 103 each at the end of the qualifying rounds, leading to the shoot-off.
The Chinese shooter was on target with her next two shots while Noora failed to hit the target in her second shot. Noora shot 21, 22, 17, 21 and 22 in the qualifying round.



In the 50M rifle 3-positions, the Qatar team of Khalid Abdulrahman Sharshani, Nasser Khalid Al Naemi and Abdulaziz Thamer Al Turki placed fourth. Qatar’s tallied 3180 points, finishing well behind Korea whose shooters totalled 3451 for the bronze.
In the junior men’s trap, Qatar’s Ali Ahmad Al Kuwari was ninth with a score of 108.
In the 25M pistol for women, Qatar’s Aldana Saad Al Mubarak was in 14th position after the precision stage. The rapid stage is scheduled for Friday.
