Qatar SC maintain winning streak, enter last four
Al Rayyan, Qatar’s second entry in the Arab Club Championship, falter in the group stage and go out of medal reckoning.

Qatar Sports Club entered the semifinal of the Arab Club Table Tennis Championship with a commanding 3-1 win over Al Brayati club of Iraq in Agadir in Morocco.
They will now take on Kuwaiti Club Al Fahaheel for a place in the final.
Last year’s runner-up Qatar SC have had a phenomenal run in the tournament. They maintained a clean slate in Group 2, winning all their matches en route to the quarterfinal. And as is evident from the scoreline, Qatar SC did not face any strong challenge from their Iraqi opponents, who were second in Group 3, as they sealed a semifinal berth.
Qatar SC have been well-served by Mohammed Abdul Wahab, Ahmed Khaleel Al Mohannadi and Chinese professional Jan Xian.
Al Rayyan, who were in Group 4, failed to achieve the same level of success. They started on a winning note, but failed to sustain the momentum against tough opposition and failed to make the quarterfinal.
Al Rayyan, however, got past Al Raja of Morocco 3-0 in the playoffs and still have a match to go as they target a ninth-place finish. They have Qatar national players Nasser Khalifa Nasser Khalifa, Fahad Mohammed, Abdullah Yalifei and Chinese professional Chen Hao in their ranks.
