The oldest club in Qatar, Al Ahli are still in search of their first league title. The only team to defeat Al Sadd in the league last season, Ahli couldn’t quite capitalise on the momentum as the league progressed. That they couldn’t even finish in the top four must be galling, and the team would be rallying to make a better impact this season.
