Al Sailiya, founded in 1995, have had an erratic journey in the QSL. They achieved their best-ever placing last season, coming third behind Al Sadd and Duhail. There was a difference of 12 points between them and Duhail, and the attempt will be to narrow the gap this season. They performed superbly during crunch matches last time around, holding Al Rayyan 2-2 and then defeating Al Khairatiyat in the final round. Sami Trabelsi, their experienced coach, has said his motto will be ‘one game at a time,’ but they lack an out and out attacker.
