Qatar SC prevented a drop to the Second Division narrowly, winning the play-off against Second Division runners-up Muaither SC. This time too, Qatar could face a tough time retaining their place in the QSL. Champions in 2002-03, they have endured a prolonged drought and if last season is any indication, the dry spell is likely to prolong.
