Qatar’s Bashayer wins triple jump gold
Athletes come up with impressive performances in track and field at GCC Women’s Games.

Qatar won a gold and silver in athletics competitions of the GCC Women’s Games in Kuwait on Monday.



In triple jump, Qatar’s Bashayer Abdullah Obaid won the gold with a superb effort, putting her rivals to shade.
In the 400M hurdles Maryam Farid won the silver medal with a fine run. Maryam had taken part in the IAAF World Athletics Championships earlier this month in Doha and had gained valuable of experience of competing with the world’s best athletes.
Qatari had won two medals on Sunday. Rima Farid won the silver in long jump with a determined effort. In the 100M hurdles, Ala Riad won the bronze.
