‘QTSBF keen to promote all sports under our umbrella’
The federation announces Al Jaidah Group as official transport partner for PSA Men’s World Squash and Qatar Classic.
The Qatar Tennis Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF) is keen to target grassroots development in all sports under its umbrella with a few projects already underway, according to its Secretary General Tariq Zainal.
“The QTSBF is working with a strategy to achieve its vision of promoting junior level sports in all disciplines under our federation. We already have Smash, our tennis academy for youngsters. We also regularly conduct events for junior players in squash. Badminton is also on our list of priorities and with Padel also catching on in Qatar, we have plans to promote these events,” he said.
Zainal was speaking at the announcement of Al Jaidah Group as the official transport partner for the PSA Men’s World Championships, currently underway in Doha, as well as future editions of the Qatar Classic. The agreement is for a period of three years.
Maud Daniel, Marketing and Customer Care Director at Al Jaidah Group, took the opportunity to say that her firm too was keen to develop sport in the country and was keen to associate with QTSBF in future sports activities.
“The Al Jaidah Group promotes sports, a healthy lifestyle and sustainability and we found that the QTSBF’s objectives are aligned with our vision. Al Jaidah’s employees are involved in football, basketball and badminton and as such we are ready collaborate in future with the QTSBF with events related to these sports,” she added.
As regards the new partnership between both parties, Zainal said, “The partnership reflects the commitment of the Federation and Al Jaidah Group to develop squash in Qatar. It is also our way of helping contribute to sports in Qatar and developing the local community”.
