Shewaiter wins second bronze at Asian meet
Qatari divers finish on the podium at Asian age-group Championship in India, vow to come up with better performances.

Qatari diver Mohammed Shewaiter won two bronze medals on Wednesday at the 10th Asian age-group Swimming Championships, held in Bengaluru, India.
He finished third in the 10M platform event (266.50pts), behind India’s Siddharth Pardeshi (379.00) and Iran’s Mojtaba Valipour (273.75).

Earlier, he had teamed up with Abdulaziz Balgaith (210.96pts) to take the bronze in 3M synchronised diving for open category.
India’s Ramananda Sharma and Siddharth Pradeshi (309.42) and Iran’s Ali Shakoul and Mojtaba Valipour (272.52) finished first and second respectively.
Shweiter, a silver medallist at the previous edition in Tashkent in 2017, was happy with his performance.
“I may’ve won only a bronze this time, but I’m still satisfied with my performance at the Asian level. I hope I can improve in the coming days,” said Shewaiter.
The Qatari duo had also won the bronze medal in Bangkok (’15) and Tashkent.
Over 1,200 swimmers from 40 countries participated in the Bengaluru event.
