Qatar Stars League club Al Ahli have sacked their coach Ruben de La Barrera after an indifferent performance by the team in the elite competition.

Al Ahli announced the news of Barrera’s sacking on their Twitter page. The club said their under-23 coach Carlos Hernandez would take over the job on an interim basis till a replacement is named.

Al Ahli are seventh after ten rounds of QSL this season. They have won four matches, lost five and drawn one for a tally of 13 points.

They lost their latest match, in the Ooredoo Cup, to Al Gharafa 4-1 last week.

Barrera is the third coach to lose his job since the start of this season’s QSL. Qatar SC had removed Carlos Alos from the post after a poor start to the season while Umm Salal also packed off their coach Raul Caneda after some poor displays.
