Struggling Qatar Stars League side Umm Salal sacked their coach Raul Caneda on Saturday and replaced him with Tunisian Ahmed El Abyad.

The club announced the news on their Twitter account and stated they would resume training on Sunday under the new coach.

Umm Salal have not been able to perform to their potential this season and are currently ranked 11th in the 12-team table.

Their most recent game, against Qatar Sports Club on Thursday, had ended in a 0-5 defeat. Umm Salal have won only one game in their eight outings so far. They drew twice and lost five matches to remain on five points.

Spaniard Caneda is the second coach to lose his job during the current QSL season. Qatar Sports Club had removed their coach Carlos Alos after some poor results in the early rounds.
